The Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, has been speaking about his plans to take the State to the next level if elected in the 2023 Governorship election in the State.
Umo Eno, who was speaking on the TVC News Breakfast Show on Tuesday Morning with Veronica Dan-Ikpoyi, Kemi Fola-Adeyemo and Sam Omatseye, said He has the capacity, the Character and the competence to continue to deliver development for the people of the state.
He added that his is a template of continuity, experience both in and outside government as a technocrat and provide Jobs for the Youth and Women of Akwa Ibom State.
While dissecting what he described as the Akwa Ibom ARISE Agenda, he said the current administration under the Governor Udom Emmanuel administration has moved the State up Economically and needs someone with a deep understanding of what he has done to continue on the path of development.
He said the ARISE Agenda comprises of Agriculture Revolution, Tourism and Environment, Rural Development , Infrastructural Maintenance and Advancement , Security Management to ensure the Economic Industrial and Social Advancement of the People of Akwa Ibom Continue apace.
He added that Security Management will be a central part of his administration to maintain peace so that businesses can thrive.
He added that this will help in following the trajectory of the Udom Emmanuel Administration for the People of Akwa Ibom and take it away from dependence on Oil.
He also said the State needs to continue to develop the Ibom Air which has been taken higher by the addition of two more Aircrafts by the Udom Emmanuel administration to also help in promoting its tourism industry.
He said this will help in ensuring that the State’s teeming youth population are gainfully employed.
Health and Education according to him will be given as much priority as the Udom Emmanuel administration has if not more.
On the Seeming rift generated by his emergence as the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom State, He said he emerged Democratically as the governorship candidate of the party and that of the governor, Udom Emmanuel and Other key Stakeholders, there was nothing like handpicking anybody, it is a strange concept that has no evidence in reality.
