No fewer than 40 persons suffering from eye defects in Egbaland have benefitted from this year’s free eyes surgery sponsored by the Egbaland Humanitarian and Development Council.
The Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland made this known while receiving the beneficiaries at his palace in Ake, Abeokuta.
These are some of the people suffering from eye defects in Egbaland but lack financial capacity to go for surgery.

In order to reduce the number of visually impaired persons in the society, the Egbaland Humanitarian and Development Council has organized free eye surgery for those with eye problems.
The body organized vehicles to take them from Ake Palace to where the surgery was carried out.
Mr Emmanuel Onibuore said he cannot see with one of his eyes.
Few days later after the surgery, the beneficiaries returned to the Ake Palace to appreciate the Egbaland Humanitarian and Development Council and the donors.
They were received by the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland.
Mr Tafa Emmanuel says he has regained his sights and can now see clearly.
Egbaland Humanitarian Development Council focuses on Health and Education with a plan of making life more abundance for the people of Egbaland.
The issue of Humanitarian assistance especially in the Health Sector has become more important following the alarming level of brain drain by Doctors, Nurses and Other Health Care professionals.
A recent report even list Nigerians as being the third most prominent migrant population of workers in the Health Sector in the United States of America.
This initiative also follows Others from Non-Governmental Organisations like the Rotary Club and Others and will be a major source of succour for less privileged Nigerians to have access to Healthcare especially game changing interventions like restoring site for visually impaired persons and Others.
