Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson has accused the Minister of State for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, and former Governor of the state, Timipre Sylva, of sponsoring militants in the state.
Dickson made the accusation on Thursday during the monthly transparency briefing initiative, the first edition for 2018, held at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall of Government House, Yenagoa.
He particularly alleged that Lokpobiri was the one who armed wanted kidnapper and militant, Peregbakumo Oyawerikumo, alias Kareowei, who has been arrested by the operatives of Operation Delta Safe (OPDS) Joint Task Force in the Niger Delta, with weapons and ammunition to commit crimes and terrorize Bayelsa and Delta states.
