Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has asked public servants to be accountable and transparent in the discharge of their duties.
Governor Akeredolu spoke at the grand finale of the 2022 Public Service Week.
It is the grand finale of the 2022 Public Service Week in Ondo State, South-West, Nigeria.
With the civil service regarded as the engine room of government, this programme is designed to give workers a sense of belonging and devise ways of making them more efficient.
The State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, who was represented by his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, admonished the workers to be more productive.
He challenged them to expand the revenue base of the state and ensure prudent management of finances of the state.
The Governor added that his administration will not undervalue the essence of teamwork and motivation of workers.
The State Head of Service, Kayode Ogundele said public servants should be seen as the machinery for implementing government policies.
Highpoint of the event was presentation of awards to outstanding and innovative public servants.
Ondo State Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has over the Course of his over 5 years in Office as the Governor been at the forefront of building the capacity of the public Service in the State.
He has always stated it that he will not only be judged on the number of projects he delivered while in office but also on how well the public Service in the State improves under his watch.
He has also as a former President of the Nigerian Bar association done his best to reposition the Judiciary as a part of the State’s public Service.
He has also invested heavily in securing the State since it is a kind of bridge between the South West, South South and the North Central with the attendant security challenges compounded by the presence of Bandits, Terrorists masquerading as herdsmen in the State.
