Zamfara State Governor Bello Matawalle has ordered the immediate suspension of the District Head of Badarawa in Shinkafi Emirate Council, Surajo Namakkah Ibrahim for conferring traditional title on a military officer arrested for aiding banditry
The military officer deployed to keep peace in Shinkafi local government area and environs was arrested for supplying arms and ammunition to Bandits terrorising communities in the area
Governor Bello Matawalle express sadness over the development and describe it as an effort to destroy the relative peace enjoyed in the state.
He says the suspension of the District Head is indefinite as the traditional title is of no significant importance to the development of the emirate and the state at large
The military officer installed with the title of Durubun was recently arrested in possession of live ammunition at the point of handing over to his client after collecting an advanced payment of one hundred thousand naira
Governor Bello Matawalle insist his administration will not tolerate any move capable of destroying the hard earned peace and reputation of the state and will ensure that anyone found wanting in anyway will be dealt with decisely.
He noted that henceforth traditional rulers in the must seek for approval before installing any traditional title on persons who have contributed to the development of their respective Districts or Emirates.
Mr. Matawalle adds that the action became pertinent in order to avoid unnecessary embarrassment to the state and its traditional institutions.
According to him, Nigeria can not overcome the security challenges facing most parts of the country with such bad eggs within security outfits supporting the unholy act for their selfish reasons.
