The Adamawa State chairman of NUT, Comrade Rodney Nathan says nine members of the union were killed in various herdsmen attacks in the state between January and February this year.

Speaking at Teachers Annual Prayer Day in Yola, Nathan said teachers are no longer save in some communities, calling on government to bring killer-herdsmen to book.

The state commissioner of Education, Hon. Julius Kadala who represented Governor Jibrilla Bindow at the occasion, assured teachers of their safety, promising that none of them will be sacked on the grounds of competency.

Special prayers were offered for the peace, progress, unity and stability of the country by the Christian and Muslim clerics at the occasion who sought God’s guidance and prayers for the nation’s leadership towards overcoming the present security challenges threatening the unity of Nigeria.
