The newly appointed 42nd Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Kennedy Ezete, has paid a courtesy visit to Governor Bassey Otu at Government House, Calabar.
The visit focused on strengthening naval–state relations and boosting security collaboration across Cross River State.
Rear Admiral Ezete pledged the Navy’s commitment to safeguarding waterways and critical infrastructure, stressing that deeper cooperation with civil authorities would create a safer environment for investment and development.
Governor Otu, in his remarks, commended the Navy for its role in protecting Nigeria’s maritime domain.
He emphasised that the security of waterways is vital to economic growth and assured that his administration will continue to support the Command in ensuring stability, particularly in coastal and border communities.
The visit forms part of ongoing engagements between security agencies and the Cross River State Government, aimed at fostering peace, improving maritime security, and opening new opportunities for economic activities in the region.
