PINL distributes relief materials worth millions to Bayelsa, Imo, Rivers

In order to offer much-needed assistance to flood-affected communities situated along the pipeline right of way within their operational base, the management of Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited distributed, (PINL) relief supplies to over one hundred communities in Bayelsa, Rivers, and Imo states

Recorded as the worst flood incident in the last decade, the 2022 flood disaster has left millions worth of properties, roads, and farmlands destroyed with The UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation putting Nigeria among six countries facing a high risk of catastrophic levels of hunger as the water recedes.

To ameliorate the plight of communities worst hit by the disaster, the management of Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) distributed relief materials worth millions of naira to communities located near oil pipelines under surveillance and maintenance by the company.

In Rivers State, about 30 communities received relief materials distributed in Ahoada, Rumuekpe, and Abua/Odua.

The Project lead, Rear Admiral Akinjide Akinrinade says the company hopes to promote healthy relationships with communities in their operational areas.

The team led by the former JTF Commander also visits Imo State where over 20 communities received palliatives distributed at Umu-Dike in Ohaji-Egbema Local government area.

In Bayelsa State, the relief materials are distributed in Biogbolo for over 20 communities in Yenagoa, while the people of Otuesega and Ikarama also receive truckloads of food items from the company.

Akinride rtd said the company hope to promote a healthy relationship with communities within their operational area

He said, “The Federal Government also recently assigned us the responsibility of providing surveillance and maintenance of the Trans Niger Pipeline due to our track record of excellent service delivery.
