At least five people have been killed in explosions that took place in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The explosions were a result of twin bomb blasts that happened late on Thursday evening.

The first explosion went off at a residential area in the Gunge part of the city while a second occurred in customs close to an area where cars are sold.
