Seven lockup shops were burnt on Saturday afternoon at the 2nd Junction, Governor Road, Council Bus Stop, Ikotun, Lagos
According to Margaret Adeseye who’s the
Director, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the cause of the fire resulted from the leakage from a gas cylinder in use at one of the shops which led to an explosion and spread to the other shops.

She described the act as Negligence from the refilling of the gas cylinder.
The Fire was put under control due to efforts to dampen down the pockets of Fire.
No casualty was recorded.
