Amid the growing inferno and gas explosion nationwide, the Federal Fire Service has issued keynote advisory to homeowners, storekeepers, or restaurant operators who make use of domestic cooking gas on how to prevent fire disasters.

According to an advisory that was contained in a statement shared across social media handles on Sunday, the agency stated that the gas cyliners is a very important pressure-holding item, advising that they must be treated with respect.

The statement reads, “Your gas cylinder is a Very Important Pressure-holding Person, so treat it with respect.”

The advisory includes:

Keep it upright: VIPs don’t lie down anyhow. They sit up straight

Give it fresh air: VIPs like ventilation. Don’t lock them in tight corners or stuffy cabinets. Let them breathe

No close body heat: Don’t sit your VIP beside the stove like best friends. They’re not twins, heat makes them uncomfortable.

Check for leaks politely: No shouting. Just apply soapy water around the valve and look for bubbles. VIPs respond to gentle checks.

Use the right hose: VIPs don’t like cheap accessories. Use approved hoses and regulators, no “manage it like that” attitude.

Replace worn-out parts: VIPs don’t wear tattered belts (hoses) or outdated caps (regulators). Update their wardrobe responsibly.

Remember: A well-treated gas cylinder behaves well. A stressed one gives drama you are not ready for.

TVC News previously reported that panic spread across the host community of the Ogun Guandong Free Trade Zone (OGFTZ) in Igbesa axis of Ado – Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State after a gas explosion destroyed valuables in the area.

The fire outbreak, which started around 8 a.m., allegedly occurred at the mattress section of the Free Trade Zone when a thick smoke enveloped residential buildings of the host community, particularly the students’ residential areas closer to the scene of the fire disaster.

Sources say the fire was triggered by a gas cylinder explosion from a mattress producing company located within the industrial park, thereby causing serious panic among students who heard the deafening explosion.
