The Federal Capital Territory Special Task Team on Environmental Protection has broken a notorious syndicate which specializes in distributing beggars to strategic locations in Abuja.
The team revealed that this feat was achieved through good Samaritans who reported the activities of this notorious syndicate to security operatives.
The beggars deceive unsuspecting residents by disguising as blind people by and are often led by little kids to beg for alms, after which the proceeds are remitted to their benefactors.
Those arrested have been handed over to relevant authorities for prosecution.
