Farming and vocational activities have been recommended as panacea to the political thuggery and youth restiveness problems facing the country.
The recommendation is the central message of a paper delivered by a journalist-Mojeed Jamiu at an end of year event organized by the Youth Wing of the All Progressives Congress in Ado Ekiti Local Government Area.
The event featured an empowerment workshop where a Guest Lecturer delivered a paper entitled, Self Reliance: An Assessment of the Essential Strategies for Youth Empowerment in Nigeria.

The lecture was preceded by motivational speeches by some chieftains of the party.
The Guest Lecturer and some participants spoke on the essence of the empowerment workshop and also the import of the recent Governorship Election in the neighbouring Ondo State.
The victory of the APC in the Ondo gubernatorial poll seemed to have sent a message to APC members in Ekiti State to unite irrespective of the many caucuses they hitherto belonged.
