Northwest University, Kano, has granted the Emir of Kano, Dr. Muhammadu Sanusi II, special admission into its Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme, combining Common Law and Sharia studies.
The approval, which places the monarch directly into Level 200, was confirmed in an official correspondence issued by the university’s Directorate of Examinations, Admissions and Records.
In a letter dated January 12, 2026, and signed by the Head of the Directorate, Jafaru Muhammad, on behalf of the Registrar, the institution formally conveyed the decision.
The document indicated that the Emir’s admission followed a special application and was granted after he met the necessary requirements.
Details of the admission letter were made public by former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, who shared the document on his X handle.
