That’s the story in Elebele, an Ogbia Community in Bayelsa State where the people now resort to canoes as the only means of transportation in the neighbourhood.

Ovieteme George was in Elebele where the people are now faced with the difficulty of accessing the neighbouring communities.

The natives of Elebele are drawn to a strange but disturbing spectacle early Thursday morning.

A bridge constructed by Shell Petroleum Development Company has collapsed.

The bridge lies prostrate at the middle of the stream denying the people of the usual short walk to both sides of the Community.

The ferryman comes to the rescue at just twenty naira per trip.
