The Ekiti State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rural Electrification Agency in Abuja.
The MOU is aimed at expanding scalable energy access through public-private partnerships.
The state government participated in a strategic roundtable organised by the Nigerian Rural Electrification Agency.

The event, themed “Leveraging Public-Private Partnerships for Scalable Energy Access Infrastructure in Ekiti State brought together key players in the power sector — including federal agencies, private investors, development finance institutions, and technical experts.
Participants explored data-driven strategies and private-sector investment models to accelerate energy development, especially in underserved rural areas.
This engagement aligns with Governor Oyebanji’s energy agenda and leverages new policy frameworks, including the Electricity Constitutional Amendment of 2023, the Electricity Act 2023, and Ekiti State’s Power Sector Reform Law 2023.
With this MoU, the Rural Electrification Agency and Ekiti State are set to deepen collaboration and unlock new energy opportunities through strategic partnerships.
