The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a three-count charge against music promoter, Ezekiel Onyedikachuwu Thankgod, over the alleged theft of $443,371 belonging to gospel artistes Mercy Chinwo and Judith Kanayo (Judikay).
The defendant who is the former manager of both artistes, is being prosecuted alongside his company, Eezee Global Concepts Limited,
before the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos.
The case was filed by a group of EFCC prosecutors led by Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN).
According to the charge, the defendant allegedly dishonestly converted to his personal use various sums totaling $443,371 in 2023. The amounts reportedly include:
$112,985, $260,494, and $69,892
The offences are said to contravene Sections 280(1)(a) and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
No date has been fixed yet for the defendant’s fresh arraignment.
Eezee Tee is also facing another charge at the federal high court, ikoyi, Lagos of allegedly laundering 255,436 US dollars by illegally dealing in foreign exchange, and for the non-disclosure of his
company’s financial transactions.
