The ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government has extended the withdrawal date of Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso from the regional body by 6 months.
The decision was announced at the 66th Ordinary session of the authority in Abuja.
The decision may not be unconnected with recent mediating efforts by the President of Senegal.
