The malaria campaign led by cross-over actress Doris Simeon as part of her social responsibility can be considered an act of health communication.
Health Communication is the use of communication strategies to inform and influence individual decisions that enhance health. It is important because it provides the public with tools and knowledge to respond appropriately to health crisis and also to protect themselves.
It is clearly a health communication act as it will impact a large number of people through special communication strategies such as the presence of celebrities like Dayo Amusa, Funsho Adeolu, Iyabo Ojo amongst others, services as well as incentives such as free medical checkups, mosquito nets, clothing etc. and entertainment expected to attract the people and galvanize them to act promptly as regards the deadly disease malaria, so they can live healthy lives.
