Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced plans to commence nationwide distribution of petrol and diesel with free logistics support from 15 August 2025, in a move aimed at transforming Nigeria’s fuel distribution system.

The refinery in a statement said it would supply Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel to petrol dealers, manufacturers, telecommunications companies, aviation operators and other major users across the country. The initiative includes free transportation to boost supply efficiency.

To support the scheme, Dangote Refinery has invested in 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers. It is also building CNG stations—known as daughter booster stations—and deploying over 100 CNG tankers nationwide to ensure smooth delivery.

The company described the programme as part of its broader commitment to reducing logistics costs, promoting sustainability, and supporting Nigeria’s economic growth.

It aims to make fuel more affordable and accessible, while also helping to cut production costs, lower inflation, and stimulate economic activity.

“All petrol stations purchasing PMS and diesel from Dangote Refinery will benefit from this enhanced logistics support. The scheme will also offer credit facilities to bulk buyers of at least 500,000 litres, allowing them an additional 500,000 litres on credit for two weeks under bank guarantee,” the company said.

Dangote Refinery added that the initiative is expected to revive dormant petrol stations, create jobs, boost small and medium-sized businesses, increase government revenue, and improve fuel access in rural areas.

It aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, according to the company, and reflects shared goals for economic stability and inclusive development.

The firm also acknowledged the Federal Government’s support through the Naira-for-Crude scheme, which it said has helped stabilise fuel supplies amid global price fluctuations.
