A coalition of civil society organisations and women groups is rallying support for the passage of the Reserved seats for women bill.
The bill is currently before the National Assembly.
The bill topped the list of bills that received citizens’ support at the just concluded public hearing in the six geopolitical zones of the country.
At a news conference in Abuja, the groups say Nigeria, as the giant of Africa, can not continue to top the list of nations with the lowest women representation in governance.
They call on the National Assembly and the State Houses of Assembly to listen to the voices of the citizens and give the bill all the needed support.
The coalition also appealed to President Bola Tinubu to assent to the bill once it was passed by the National and State houses of Assembly
