Dauda Lawal was declared winner of the primary election after defeating three other Aspirants

The aspirants, Ibrahim Shehu Gusau, Wadatau Madawaki and Aliyu Hafiz Muhammad had in June filled a suit challenging the emergence of Dauda Lawal as winner of the election

They cited alleged irregularities, inconsistencies, fraud, breach of the party’s constitution, provisions of electoral acts among others as reasons for seeking an outright nullification of the exercise

Delivering the judgement, Justice Aminu Bappa of the Federal High Court Gusau says the court has granted all the prayers of the plaintiffs and nullified the primary election

He also orders for a fresh Primary Election to produce an authentic Candidate that will fly the party’s flag in the 2023 General election

Justice Aminu Bappa noted that the 109-page Judgement will be presented to the counsels of both the plaintiff and the defendants

Addressing Newsmen shortly after the Judgement, Counsel to the plaintiffs Ibrahim Aliyu says, the court decision is based on the prayers his clients submitted before the court

He express Happiness with the outcome of the judgement describing it as a victory to democracy

“We are happy today as the court has answered our prayers and cancelled the election which was mared by series of irregularities” He said.

“I am so glad that the court has granted the prayers submitted in this honorable court by our clients and hereby ruled in their favour”. Aliyu Noted

Responding to the judgement, Imraan Ahmad a media aide to the Zamfara PDP Governorship Candidate Dauda Lawal says they will appeal the judgement

Imraan adds that they are optimistic of victory not only in the court but even at the polls

It would be reecall that Dauda Lawal was declared winner of the May 25th primary election by the Chairman of the Zamfara PDP Primary Election Committee Chairman Adamu Maina Waziri on May the 25th, 2022.
