Border closure by the Chinese government due to COVID-19 outbreak according to NASENI has affected Nigeria’s manpower training in China for the proposed local manufacture of the First Made in Nigeria helicopter.

This was disclosed in Kaduna by the Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Professor Mohammed Sani Haruna

The NASENI chief also inspected project which will soon be commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Aeronautics and Air Vehicle Equipment Development Institute is a new institute of the National Agency For Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) which was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari as the centre for NASENI assembly of the first made in Nigeria Helicopter.

The institute which is located in AFIT Kaduna has the mandate to research and develop spare parts, components and systems of Aeronautics and Air Vehicle Technologies.

The NASENI team led by the executive vice secretary on Monday visited AFIT authorities to finalize the site takeover and design.

The visit was also to strategize on the commencement of construction work to fast-track the project which will be commissioned by the president before the end of his administration.

The commandant expressed excitement at the collaboration and promised to maximize it for the benefit of AFIT and the Airforce.

The NASENI chief also visited Afaka to inspect the ongoing NASENI Automotive Supplier Industrial Park.

Three Billion Naira was approved by the federal government for the construction of this park in three locations in the country.

the NASENI Chief says on completion, it will unlock the opportunities in the automotive sector as well as potentials in the manufacturing industry with a view to creating employment and skilled Labour in Nigeria.

Once fully completed and equipped, the automotive park will be self-sustaining and a government revenue source which will put an end to the importation of vehicle spare parts.

The project is also intended to provide the Nigerian Army Vehicle Manufacturing Company with the necessary support in the production of Armoured Vehicles.

EFCC EXTENDS BIDS FOR SOME FORFEITED ASSETS

The sale of forfeited real estate assets by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, through sealed bids commenced on Monday, January 9, 2023, at the premises of the National Open University, Jabi Abuja.

However, none of the properties in the three Lots (Lots 1, 2 and 3) slated for sale by competitive bidding, were taken as the bids were unsuccessful.

The bidders either failed to match the reserve price or were disqualified for violation of the guidelines.

In view of this development, and in line with the Commission’s commitment to transparent disposal of the assets, EFCC is constrained to re-open fresh bids for the assets in the three lots as earlier advertised. Prospective bidders for the assets in Lots 2 and 3 have until 5pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2022, to submit their bids while the bids will be opened on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

Bids for the assets in Lot 1 will open from today, January 9, till 12pm on Friday, January 13, 2023 and the bids will be opened on the same date.

It is important to emphasize that the assets in Lot 1 will be offered for sale as a single unit. Bidders are reminded that failure to include the requisite 10% bank draft for the bid amount will invalidate their offer.
