Socialite and High Fashion founder Rahman Jago has claimed in a viral social media post that Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has converted to Islam and fully embraced the faith.

Rahman Jago posted a video capturing the moment Burna Boy was reciting a quote from the Qur’an signaling his public conversion to Islam on Wednesday, coinciding with the Ramadan period.

The video, captioned “Allahu Akbar”, has garnered over 9,800 likes and 230 replies, blending joyful affirmations from Muslim fans with humorous memes critiquing the influence of peers in personal faith decisions.
This moment highlights Burna Boy’s enduring cultural sway in Afrobeats, where his shift sparks broader conversations on celebrity spirituality in Nigeria’s religiously diverse landscape, without prior public hints of such a change.
Replying to the viral clip, former Presidential Aide, Bashir Ahmad said, “Masha Allah! Burna Boy is seen so so happy. May Allah (SWT) make it so easy for him.”
Following his reaction, Ahmad was asked by a fan if he could confirm whether the artiste has converted to Islam, and he replied, “Some people close to him said he converted to Islam, but there has been no official confirmation directly from him yet.”
Rahman Jago confirmed Ahmad’s statement, saying, “He converted. He is now a Muslim.”
