During a meeting with representatives from professional bodies in the sector and government agencies, the state’s commissioner for physical planning and urban development did just that.

He gave them three weeks to review the draft and come up with suggestions and opinions on how to make the document better.

On their part, representatives of professional bodies say they are ready to work with the government on the code and described the step taken by the government as the right one.

The professional bodies include Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, Nigerian institute of building, Nigeria Institute of Architects, building collapse prevention guilds among others.
