The Olubadan of Ibadan land coronation ceremony reaches its pinnacle as the Afobaje of Ibadanland, Chief Waheed Popoola, placed the sacred Akoko leaves on the head of former Governor Oba Rashidi Ladoja. Chief Popoola, representing the Labosinde Compound in the Oja’ba area of Ibadan South East LGA, performed the rite to a thunderous ovation from the massive crowd in attendance.
The process is in preparation for his moving to the Ose Meji House, where he would be crowned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, shortly after leaving Labosinde Compound.
