Nigeria’s airline sub-sector continues to receive negative comments on its operations as another video trends on the social media.
This time, Azman Airline’s incident throws its passengers into panic, questioning air safety in the country.
Our Aviation Correspondent, Lilian Eze-Mark, reports that the affected flight was from Lagos to Port Harcourt when one of the two-engine aircraft failed while the aircraft was mid-air, at over 20,000 feet above sea level.
A Boeing B737 flight with registration number 5N-NAS, with 114 passengers on-board.
The General Manager, Public Affairs, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), said the airline had reported the incident to the regulatory body. Other airlines that include Air Peace, Arik Air, Dana Air among others have incidents recently but the regulators assures the public of air safety.
The airline’s safety manager said the carrier had deployed another aircraft to airlift its passengers from Port Harcourt.
