According to police, at least nine people were killed and two injured in a fireworks factory explosion in central Thailand on Wednesday, as officers continued to search for casualties.
The factory caught fire around 11:00 a.m. (0400 GMT) in the Mueang district of Suphan Buri province, north of Bangkok, with images shared by a rescue group showing a charred building reduced to rubble.

Thai police confirmed nine deaths, up from four previously, and two others were being treated at a nearby hospital.
“We are trying to identify the cause of the blast,” local police chief Wanchai Khaoram told reporters.
In Thailand, factory fires are common, and safety regulations are not strictly enforced.
Last year, another firework factory in the same province exploded, killing at least 23 people.
