Amnesty International has called on the European Union to stop deporting Afghans, saying such returns were illegal as the poor security situation in the country exposed refugees and migrants to grave dangers.
The EU, however, is boasting about boosting returns to the Middle East and Africa of failed asylum seekers and what it says are labour migrants.

The director of Amnesty International’s EU office, Iverna McGowan said Afghanistan remained a ‘deeply unsafe’ place and called on all European countries to implement a moratorium on returns to Afghanistan.
The United States and its NATO allies, including in the EU, invaded Afghanistan after the 2001 attacks on World Trade Centre to try defeat the Taliban rebels and remains in the country 16 years later, still fighting the insurgency as the government in Kabul remains weak.
