The four male students were killed in a mob action on October the 5th, 2012 and since then, the trial for their
murder has continued to drag on.

It the same scenario today when hearing of the case resumed at a State High Court in Port Harcourt.

TVC News Uche Okoro reports that there are growing concerns since 2012 when the case popularly referred to as the Aluu-4 began that justice may never be served.

Emerging from the last court appearance, the defence lawyers accused the office of the Rivers State director of
public prosecution of using ?delay tactics to stall the case.

One of the counsels questioned why only a handful of prosecution witnesses had continued to appear ?since the
matter was first charged to court four years ago.

The Defense team has also expressed worries over the fate of those ?standing trial as the Aluu-4 case has continued to suffer setbacks.

A total of 12 accused persons have been remanded in Prison custody since 2012.

But the prosecution says the delay is not deliberate. He attributed it to the fact that many of the witnesses have relocated from the state since the incident occurred.

The thirty third hearing date comes up on the next adjourned date of October the 27th this year.
