The Federal Government of Nigeria has re-arraigned four co-defendants of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu before a Federal High Court in Abuja on three amended count charges.

The fresh arraignment followed an application by the prosecution counsel, informing the court of fresh information, which reduces the charges from five to three counts.

The four co-defendants were produced before justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja.

When the charges were read, the defendants, Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawuisi and Bright Chimezie pleaded not guilty to the three count-charges of setting up an illegal broadcast in London and Nigeria to push for the secession of the South East, South South and parts
of Benue and Kogi States from Nigeria.

The Federal Government is accusing the defendants conspired and committed treasonable felony which it says is contrary to section 516 of the criminal Code Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
