The African Development Bank, is working with Nigeria to develop Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones. A development aimed revolutionizing the country’s agriculture sector.

Special agro processing zones are designed to allow for huge volumes of agro-processing activities within areas of high agricultural potentials.

They are  basically to help increase agricultural productivity and competitiveness.

The African Development Bank, and its partners, are investing heavily in these projects  to rapidly scale up agricultural production in countries like Nigeria.

The aim is  to provide millions of youths, men and women in rural areas with employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

The African Development Bank foresees  the agro- processing zone initiative helping to bring basic infrastructure to rural areas while  serving as a linkage between smallholder producers as well as  medium enterprises in priority value chains.
