Lagos State APC Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe, has described some Nigerian lecturers as being very corrupt.

Igbokwe, while advocating for more funds to be injected into education in the country, noted that the monies must be properly monitored because of some bad eggs in the sector.

The APC Lagos chieftain was reacting to the latest industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) during TVC News’ 10:00AM news bulletin on Wednesday.

He said the war on anti-graft has to be taken to higher institutions too as some lecturers do not even posses the requisite qualifications.

Igbokwe had been in the studio to share his thoughts on the criticisms that has trailed former president Goodluck Jonathan’s admittance that he “failed to completely plug the loopholes in the fight against corruption.

Jonathan, who spoke in Abuja at the convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said his administration “did well”.

He explained that he“learnt that some people said that if the PDP had remained in power beyond 2015, the economy would have been worse”.
