Ahead of the unveiling of its legislative agenda, the house of representatives says economy, insecurity and the fight against corruption, are among speaker Femi Gbajabiamila’s priorities in the next four years.
At a time armed banditry, kidnapping and terrorism still ravage the Northern part of the country, the committee disclosed plans by the Speaker to commence a tour of the region with a view to enacting laws that will redress the worsening insecurity
Mr. Gbajabiamila is also putting finishing touches to the legislative agenda that will drive the ninth House of Representatives and this committee says the economy, anti corruption and insecurity take priority
The lawmakers have dispelled insinuations that the eight principal offices belonging to the ruling and opposition political parties have been filled.
They said none of the political parties has yet agree on its zoning formula and any resolution reached will be communicated in due course.
While in Lagos, the Speaker assured the people that the ninth House would hit the ground running and focus on those things that would have positive impact on the average citizen.
