Debit cards have been distributed to more than 5,000 recipients of a program to enhance the wellness of citizens in the federal capital territory.

The minister of state for the FCT stated at the start of the distribution of cards that the program is part of the government’s endeavor to soften the consequences of the post-covid 19 era for poor and vulnerable households.

The impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on communities and households have lingered, and the Nigerian government has put in place strategies to mitigate this effect.

The FCT Covid-19 action recovery and economic stimulation program, for example, intends to provide subsidies to needy households and small enterprises.
