The minister of the FCT, Nyesom wike, has authorised a temporary suspension of rehabilitation at the International Conference Centre till July 5th 2024.
According to a press statement, the decision was made to accommodate significant events that are of peculiar nature and of importance to the nation and the international community.
The events are, the Nigeria Air Force Anniversary tagged The NAF @ 60 Anniversary, themed ‘Nigerian Air Force at 60 as well as the Nigeria Oil and Gas energy week which is scheduled to take place in June 2024.
In parallel the 23rd NOG Energy Week Conference & Exhibition, a cornerstone event for the international energy sector.
Recall that the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, had suspended all events at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja, over poor maintenance of the facility.
He said the suspension was to enable Julius Berger to carry out holistic rehabilitation of the centre.
The minister said that Julius Berger had been given eight months to complete the total renovation of the centre.
