The Nigerian Senate has urged the Federal Government to immortalise Nigeria’s Flag Designer , Taiwo Akinkunmi who died in August .
The Senate also urged the Federal Government to organize a befitting state burial in his honour.
The Senate’s resolution follows a motion by Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun representing Oyo South to recognise and honor the outstanding contributions of the Pioneer.
The Nigerian Senate pays tribute to Late Taiwo Akinkunmi, Designer of the green and white Nigerian flag.
The Senate considered a motion to recognise this Nigerian for his patriotic service to the Nation and resolved to keep his memory ever green .
As part of its resolutions, the Senate urged the Federal Government to immortalize the Memory of Taiwo Akinkunmi by establishing a befitting National Monument in honor of his significant role in Nigeria’s History
In another development, the senate Confirmed the nomination of Chuwuemeka Agbasi for appointment as managing Director of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency and nine others as members .
Their appointments were confirmed following the report of the Senate’s Committee on FERMA presented by its Chairman Senator Babagida Hussaini .
The Upper legislative Chamber also made some adjustments to the leadership of its Standing Committees .
