PDP PROMISES ISSUE BASED CAMPAIGNS TOWARDS 2023 ELECTIONS

As electioneering activities continue ahead the 2023 general election, political parties have been charged to focus on issue based campaigns with the PDP Promising to tow the line.


Executive Assistant on Communications to the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party Fred Oghenesivbe who made this call assured that the PDP will remain focused on socioeconomic and insecurity issues, as well as the manifestos of candidates across board.

Mr. Oghenesivbe advised media strategists and communication professionals to adopt proactive measures to ensure swift responses to misinformation, half truth, fake news and media propaganda by opposition political parties during the electioneering season.

He spoke in Lagos at an award ceremony by the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management.

He called on eligible voters in Nigeria to partner the Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates of the PDP Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa, to reset and rebuild the country by casting their votes for the party and it Candidates next year.

The emergence of the Peoples Democratic Party presidential ticket has thrown the party into turmoil with palpable uncertainty on whether the G-5 Governors led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and the expanded Integrity group which include a former Deputy National Chairman of the Party Chief Olabode Ibiyinka George will back the ticket.

Chief Olabode George also during the last few days reiterated the insistence of the Integrity group on its demands to the Presidential Candidate of the Party and Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar with the main one being the removal of the National Chairman, Dr Iyorchia Ayu.

The emergence of the ticket has also led in a way to the disclosure of the payment of the 13% derivation funds arrears by the Federal Government.

The disclosure was made by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, who thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the payment which dates as far back as 1999 during the Obasanjo administration.
