President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, said the Senate will increase budgetary allocations for security in the 2020 budget.
He disclosed this at plenary on Wednesday.
It follows a point of order raised on incessant killings and kidnappings on highways in parts of the country.

Mr Lawan added that the National Assembly will monitor expenditure to ensure transparency and accountability.
The red chamber however urges security agencies to intensify efforts at controlling crime as well as securing lives and property.
