The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Ilorin has dismissed the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its governorship candidate in the March 9 Governorship election, Rasak Atunwa against governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s election.
In a unanimous judgment, the tribunal held that the allegation that AbdulRazaq was not qualified for the election could not be proven beyond all reasonable doubt.
The tribunal based its judgement on the submission of the West African Certificate Examination that confirmed that the secondary school certificate presented by the APC candidate was genuine.
The tribunal subsequently stuck out all the grounds of the petition.
