The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, has expressed shock over his suspension by the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
The People’s Democratic Party has suspended the factional Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, and six other members.
The suspension is contained in a statement by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan.
But in a swift reaction, the affected lawmakers described the party’s action as hasty. Elumelu, in a statement issued on behalf of the seven lawmakers expressed shock at the decision of the National Working Committee of the party.
He said contrary to the party’s position that the affected parliamentarians shunned its invitation for a meeting, they got the letter of invitation very late, at a time, all of them were out of Abuja.
In his own reaction, Wole Oke from Osun state, said his suspension was unfortunate. He accused the PDP of suspending its most loyal member and asked the party to tow the path of honour and Constitutionalism.
Also suspended are Lynda Ikpeazu from Anambra state, Anayo Edwin from Ebonyi state, Gideon Gwani from Kaduna state, Toby Okechukwu from Enugu and Serious Abdulmajid from Ogun state.
