Fourteen communities in the suburb of Ekiti State capital are to enjoy potable water soon as Governor Kayode Fayemi has flagged off water pipeline extension distribution network to the areas.
The water reticulation in Ado Ekiti metropolis is part of a World Bank assisted water project which includes the rehabilitation of a major dam.
The launching of the laying of water pipeline network took place at Olorunda area of Ado Ekiti.
Residents of the area and the adjoining communities are currently dependent on well water for domestic use and drinking and most of the wells dry up every year during the dry season.
Fayemi said the hardship residents of Olorunda area face to access hygienic water will soon be over because they are among communities to benefit from a World Bank assisted water project currently under implementation in the state
