Joe Biden was on Wednesday inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States of America regardless of political leanings.

Like those before him, Biden delivered what many described as a unifying inaugural speech that fits the current situation in the world’s ,most powerful nation.

But what message did this Inauguration Day speech portray?

Here is a compilation of other memorable speeches by past and president American presidents.

1. George Washington, 1789
“The magnitude and difficulty of the trust to which the voice of my Country called me, being sufficient to awaken in the wisest and most experienced of her citizens, a distrustful scrutiny into his qualifications, could not but overwhelm with despondence.”

2. Thomas Jefferson, 1801
