The Member represeting Maradun II Constituency at the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Maharazu Salisu Faru and one thousand others have defected From the People’s Democractic Party, PDP to the All Progressive Congress, APC.

The Lawmaker cites injustice especially in delivering dividends of democracy to his constituency among other things
as reasons for his defection alongside thousands of his supporters including party officials and stakeholders.

Among those that defected with the lawmaker includes the PDP chairman Faru ward, Secretary and a chieftain of the party, Salisu Dodo.

Mr. Faru says his defection alongside that of other party faithfuls in the area is a collective decision to librate his constituents.

He adds that his constituency has been neglected by the current administration of Governor Dauda Lawal in terms of projects and appointments.

Maradun II Constituency is in Maradun Local Government area, the hometown of Former Governor Bello Matawalle now Minister of state for Defecnce.

“Maradun II constituency has never benefited from the Zamfara PDP” He said.

“If we should allow this to continue to happen, it means my people will continue to suffer till the end of this administration which will affect us negatively as a people” He added.

He assures of putting his best to help the APC succeed in future elections.

“The way I and my people worked and contributed to the success of the PDP in 2023 we will do same for the APC as well come, 2027” he assures.

The Lawmaker was received by the Zamfara state chairman of the APC Tukur Danfulani Maikatako alongside other members of the state Working Committee at the party office in Gusau.

The chairman adds that the APC as a party welcomes the lawmaker noting that it’s a home for all and defectors will be treated equal as other party faithfuls.

“The APC is a home for all and I assure everyone of equity and fair treatment” Danfulani assures.

Thousands of politicians in Zamfara may defects to the APC before the end of this year.

The Zamfara APC chairman, Tukur Danfulani enjoin party faithfuls especially the youth to be calm, respect constituted authorities and ve law abiding citizens at all times.

Earlier, the former Chairman of the All progressive Congress in Zamfara Liman M. Liman commended the courage of the lawmaker for leaving the ruling party in the state, the PDP.

Mr. Liman described the successes to the good works the party is doing not only in Zamfara but across the country.

He however says president Bola Ahmed Tinubu is winning the game as countless members of the opposition party are defecting to the APC.

Highlights of the brief event was the presentation of Broom to the lawmaker and his supporters as symbol of acceptance into the All progressive Congress, APC and the destruction of PDP Membership card by the lawmaker and his followers.
