The minister of defence, Abubakar Badaru has arrived in Gusau to meet with governor Dauda Lawal and other stakeholders in the search for an end to the security challenges bedeviling Zamfara and other northern states.

The visit by the Defence minister is coming barely forty eight hours after the Zamfara state Governor, Dauda Lawal and his Katsina state counterpart Dikko Radda visited the minister and the National security adviser, Nuhu Ribadu in Abuja.

 

Communities and highways in Zamfara and Katsina states have recently come under bandit attacks which has led to dead of many, others abducted and vehicles destroyed

Most farmers along the ever busy Gusau – Funtua highway could not harvest their farm produce due to incessant bandit attacks in the three weeks

The visit by the two governors is part of efforts in ensuring the safety of locals and travelers

Governor Dauda Lawal and the Minister of defence among other persons are expected to hold a closed doors meeting

In the entourage of the Defence minister is the General officer eight Division Nigerian Army Sokoto, commander, Operation Fansar Yamma among others
