The Zamfara State Government has reviewed the curfew imposed across the state.

The Curfew is now between 10:00pm in the evening to 5:00am in the morning.

A state-wide Curfew was imposed last Monday to curtail the spate of attacks on innocent persons, looting and vandalisation of private and public assets in the name of Celebrating PDP’s Victory at the just concluded Governorship and State Assembly Elections

A press statement signed by the Commissioner for information Ibrahim Dosara says the decision to review the curfew becomes necessary due to the Commencement of the Ramadan fast.

The statement adds that the review is also to afford the Muslim ummah to have enough time to pray after the breaking of the Ramadan fast

“The curfew is now from 10pm to 5am, effective from today Thursday, March 23rd, 2023. This is to enable people to attend to the required religious rites and obligations in the Holy Month of Ramadan” the statement reads.

The Zamfara state Government further says it will not condone any act of attack, threat and intimidation especially on Politicians

“It is noticed that hooligans, thugs and looters are still unleashing terror attacks and threatening innocent people across the state and Government will not condone such unruly behaviour and will deal decisively with anyone caught disrupting the peace being enjoyed in the state”

Politicians are hereby advised to guide their supporters to eschew violence and remain pacifists for the peace, unity, progress and development of the state.

The government is wishing the Muslim ummah happy and peaceful Ramadan fasting.
