The Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Command, Kolo Yusuf has led a patrol team along Gusau – Yandoto – Tsafe – Funtua Road
The police commissioner personally supervised some strategic points where operational deployment of additional tactical squads were made to ensure the safety of travellers along the route.
During the patrol, the commissioner also observed numerous key strategic spots along the road that were promptly reinforced by the deployment of police tactical operators from the Command’s Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), and Anti-Violence Squad.
The Funtua-Gusau route has been besieged by bandits in recent days, resulting in the deaths of several people, particularly travelers, and the kidnapping of others.
Many road users and travelers avoided the road, which had an impact on economical activities in the area.
The move is part of the Zamfara State Police Command’s efforts to combat ongoing attacks and kidnappings in communities along the highway, as well as to make the road safer for everyone.
As part of his efforts to combat instability, CP Kolo Yusuf visited Yandoto Divisional Headquarters and Police Operatives stationed along the Yandoto-Mada road.
He commended the troops’ resilience in protecting the area’s villages and communities, while urged them to be proactive in carrying out their constitutional duties and ensuring peace at all times.

The Zamfara Commissioner of Police further assured the general public that Police in collaboration with sister agencies will sustain the ongoing effort to restore normalcy in all Troubled Communities and Highways.
He tasked members of the public on active intelligence sharing with Law Enforcement agencies for effective policing.
This Development is coming less than twenty four hours after police in Zamfara arrested eight Suspected Bandits, a female Informant, a gunrunner and two others involved in Criminal Conspiracy, Intimidation and Kidnapping
The police also seized a trailer load of Hard Drugs, Food Stuff and other Consumables meant for delivery to bandits in their hideouts.
Rifles, Live Ammunition and rustled Cattle were also recovered.
