The Lagos State Government is expanding its focus on technical education with plans to establish five new technical schools, bringing the total to ten across the state’s five divisions.

At this year’s Lagos Youth Skills Day, themed “Equipping Tomorrow’s Leaders with Skills for a Sustainable Future,” officials emphasized the importance of vocational training.

Entrepreneur Feyisola Abiru applauded the initiative and encouraged youths to seize the opportunity.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical Education, Omotola Giwa-Moore, said the celebration aims to create awareness and encourage more students to embrace vocational skills for self-reliance.

The event was attended by students from the state’s five technical colleges—who participated in a spirited debate on the relevance of technical education to national development.
