Mai Mala Buni, the newly re-elected Governor of Yobe State, and members of the state House of Assembly have received certificates of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Damaturu, the state capital.
In his remarks, the INEC national Commissioner in charge of Yobe, Maiduguri, and Bauchi states, Rt. Maj General Mohammed Alkali, says the electoral umpire disassociates itself from any political affiliation, emphasizing that the commission’s mandate is to organize, conduct, and supervise all elections in the country.

He emphasized that the commission will continue to improve technology in order to instill trust in the citizens.
In his speech, Governor Mai Mala Buni thanked the people of Yobe state for reinvesting their trust and faith in his administration, noting that he would honor the trust placed in him.
