Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum.

According to a statement on Monday by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike was welcomed by the Nigerian Consul General in Dubai, Zayyanu Ibrahim, alongside officials from the Federal Capital Territory Administration who had arrived ahead of him.

During the summit, Wike is scheduled to lead a discussion panel on Tuesday, where he will address questions about the FCT and engage with mayors and city leaders from around the world.

The 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit (2025APCS) aims to create long-term opportunities for cities and businesses seeking trade and investment across the Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, South Asia, and beyond.

Organised by the Brisbane City Council of Australia, the summit is recognised as one of the most diverse gatherings of mayors, city executives, business leaders, and young professionals globally.

The 2025APCS will focus on the theme “Collaborate, Inspire, Transform,” with sub-themes such as “Centres of Connection,” highlighting the importance of transportation networks, as well as discussions on sustainable urban development and strategies to enhance the quality of life in cities.
